Bernalillo County’s Most Wanted Program
Bernalillo County's most-wanted efforts run through a few separate programs. APD's Metro 15 is a working list built for public safety, and its dated updates and archive show a curated subset rather than every outstanding warrant in the county. Crime Stoppers exists to take anonymous tips. The U.S. Marshals District of New Mexico page describes SWIFT, a joint state and federal fugitive investigation and apprehension effort. This page points to those programs without republishing names, photos, or a roster. Open the official APD Metro 15 program page for the current dated update.
How the Most Wanted Lists Work
Curated lists pick a small set of people for a tip purpose. Updates carry dates. They are not a nightly county feed. Someone can be added, dropped, arrested, or moved into another court process with no public status row showing any of it. APD's latest located Metro 15 update described a working list plus an aggregate arrest claim, and its individual entries are left out here. Check the live program page before relying on its scope or tip details.
| Program type | Public purpose | What it is not |
|---|---|---|
| Metro 15 | Curated public-safety and tip program. | Full court warrant register. |
| Crime Stoppers | Anonymous information and reward program. | Warrant confirmation or court clearance. |
| SWIFT | Federal and cross-jurisdiction fugitive enforcement. | Countywide public search page. |
Reporting a Tip Safely
APD Crime Stoppers lists three official channels: 505-843-STOP, P3, and text ABQCS to 738477. APD materials describe anonymous identity protection, and a newsletter notes that rewards are discretionary and generally range from $0 to $1,000 under the program's rules. A tip is not a court result for anyone in Bernalillo County.
Use the official route: Do not approach, follow, photograph, message, or publish information about a person from a program page.
For immediate danger, call emergency services. For a nonurgent tip in Bernalillo County, use the current APD Crime Stoppers page and follow its instructions.
Most Wanted Lists vs Active Warrants
A most-wanted list is chosen for a program's public-safety purpose in Bernalillo County. An active-warrant question belongs with the issuing court and proper agency routing. One cannot substitute for the other.
| Question | Most wanted program | Active warrant check |
|---|---|---|
| Audience | People with information for a tip program. | A person checking an authorized court matter. |
| Scope | Curated and dated. | Court or agency specific. |
| Contact | Crime Stoppers, APD, or USMS tip route. | Issuing clerk, Case Lookup, or official agency route. |
| Outcome | Tip intake or program action. | Clerk status, hearing, bond, recall, or clearance information. |
If You Think You Are on a List
Never contact or approach anyone shown on an official program page. A curated entry does not answer the legal status of a case. If the worry is your own name, call the issuing court. Metro Customer Service is 505-841-8151, and the Second District Criminal Division lists 505-841-7444 and 505-841-7542. Ask about status, counsel, bond, surrender, and written clearance in Bernalillo County.
Do not self-manage a serious result: Confirm the court and speak with an attorney before appearing when custody or an arrest warrant may be involved.
Crime Stoppers and Court Records
Crime Stoppers collects information; the court holds the case. An anonymous tip cannot recall a warrant, set a hearing, or prove a charge, and the reward program carries its own eligibility and discretion rules. For Bernalillo County court records, the public route is New Mexico Case Lookup followed by the issuing clerk. BCSO Policy 334 describes an internal secure Warrant Section, and the sheriff posts no public all-warrants search. Keep the tip program separate from the court search.
Roundups Are Dated Operations
APD releases report aggregate outcomes from warrant-roundup operations. The DA's Operation Route 66 briefing reports aggregate arrests and warrant clearances. The 2024 APD release and the 2025 DA briefing tell you what those operations did during their dates. Nothing more. They do not create a current county inventory. Note each source's date and scope, and never turn a clearance count into a list of names or a claim about every outstanding warrant in Bernalillo County.
Federal Fugitive Programs
The U.S. Marshals District of New Mexico page describes SWIFT and its partners across local agencies, state government, corrections, probation, and federal offices. Its profiled-fugitive section is a program page, not a complete warrant register for Bernalillo County or anywhere else. Federal records can be sealed. State Case Lookup cannot answer a federal question. For a federal case, go through the District of New Mexico clerk or PACER; for program details or a federal tip, use the current Marshals source rather than merging federal profiles into a county list. Use the official U.S. Marshals District of New Mexico page for its current contact route.
Most Wanted Terms
These terms help distinguish a program from a legal status.
- Curated list
- An agency-selected subset for a stated program purpose.
- Active warrant
- A court or agency status that must be confirmed with the proper venue.
- Tip
- Information sent to an agency through its stated channel.
- Reward
- A discretionary program payment subject to current rules, not a court fee or bond.
- Fugitive
- A program term for enforcement work that does not itself supply a county court record.
Keeping Program Scope Clear
Keep the scope of each Bernalillo County option straight. Metro 15 and Crime Stoppers are official programs, one curated, one tip-based. BCSO's secure policy is not a public warrant search. Case Lookup is the individual court-record route. Only the issuing court controls the warrant itself. No program page shows a final case outcome. The live official pages carry the current scope.
APD Statistics Add Context
The official APD crime-statistics page can place warrant-arrest categories in a dated reporting context for Bernalillo County. It cannot identify a person with an active warrant. It does not replace Metro, Second District, or a municipal clerk.
Treat the reported date and category as aggregate context for Bernalillo County, never as a public roster.
